Peru is located in the central and western South America, has been the meeting point for different cultures. It borders the Pacific Ocean to the west, south Chile, Bolivia and Brazil to the east, and Colombia and Ecuador to Peru norte.El has an area of 1285.215 km2, is the third largest country in South America. It has a population of 25,662.000 inhabitants, which consists of a variety of races and cultures.


 
 

Among the breeds predominate, Spanish is the most influential. The native breed, mixed with the Spanish, black, Asian and European (who migrated to) are the races where the man finally emerge Peru.

 
     
 

Most of the residents who originally lived in the mountainous regions, migrated from the seventies to the major coastal cities. The official language in Peru is Spanish, although in 1975 he declared as second official language Quechua, the language which is the heritage of the Inca past. Approximately 95% of the population is Catholic, but the influence of religions and ancient rituals are still evident within daily life and during ceremonies, especially the Quechua people.

 
     
 

Peru is a country with three regions: the tropical coast, highlands and Amazon jungle, each perfectly differentiated by climate and by their customs, this together with the mixture of races and cultures they have, makes Peru one of the most rich in terms of geographical diversity is concerned, it has a desert area in the coastal region, despite being in the tropics. The coast has 48% of the population and is the region where is located the largest city and the capital of Peru, Lima, with a population of approximately 8 million inhabitants. During most of the year, the sky is covered by clouds that dump their moisture in the form of dew or garua. Costa is located in four of the six most populated cities of Peru: Lima, Trujillo (600 thousand), Chiclayo (520 thousand) and Piura (325 thousand). The coast contains archaeological remains of great antiquity and of great importance. The discovery of the tomb of the Lord of Sipan further underlines the archaeological wealth of their ancestors. In addition to these archaeological attractions offered the Coast beaches ideal for swimming or water sports. Sierra owns 43% of the population and larger cities are remarkable and Cuzco, Puno, Arequipa and Ayacucho. The height of this region is higher than 4.800 m, with stunning peaks, glaciers and lakes. In the Jungle is wonderful tropical forests, where the Andes Mountains, which separates it from a narrow coastal strip from 70 to 200 kilometers wide.

 
     
 

Peru is a privileged country that has a rich past and a vibrant present. The remains of great civilizations that are here make it a fascinating country filled with spectacular and varied landscapes. Throughout the country are thousands of archaeological sites that are sampled living through the years of ancient history and cultural life.

 
     
 

The official currency is the Nuevo Sol (S /.) Divided into 100 cents. Circulates in coins of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200.
